No Motel 6—But Plenty of Hospitality

Patagonia, Sonoita, and Elgin offer a surprisingly large number of overnight accommodations and unique lodging. Experience the charm and local hospitality of one of our many bed and breakfasts—complete with gourmet morning meals. Make your stay eclectic in a 1950s Airstream or distinctive cottage. Reserve a room at a full service hotel or luxury inn. Or if you seek beauty and quiet on the rambling acres of a Southern Arizona ranch, consider the historic Circle Z Ranch or Spirit Tree Inn, each of which offer casita-style lodging in a ranch setting.

Two cozy cottages and a studio apartment sit just on the edge of town, yet give guests the feeling of staying in the country. Located on twenty acres that include Sonoita Creek, ancient pine and cottonwood trees, llamas, an alpaca, and several rescue donkeys, Cross Creek Cottages provides guests with the opportunity for easy, peaceful walks and excellent bird watching. Formerly part of a sheep ranch, the property borders The Nature Conservancy and the Native Seeds/SEARCH Research Farm, which adds to its quiet ambiance.

Cross Creek Cottages has one and two bedroom accomondations available. Each are decorated with antiques and works from area artists, and include dining room, living room, bathroom, and fully furnished kitchen with dishes, flatware, coffee maker, microwave, toaster, full refrigerator, stove, private telephone and satellite television. Both cottages have secluded and private porches ( the two bedroom's porch is screened) providing the perfect place to relax with a cup of coffee or a book. And in cooler months, you can warm your feet in front of the cottages' woodstoves (each cottage also has central heat). The studio apartment is equally as comfortable but just in one lovingly decorated room.

Upon arrival, you will find the refrigerator stocked with muffins, juice, and fruit. Coffee and tea are provided throughout your entire visit. Rates are $95 per night for the cottages and $85 for the studio, double occupancy. Weekly and monthly rates are available.
